The Chaams Chicken - The Chaams chicken, locally called "Kaamse kiep," has been kept since the beginning of the last century in Brabant (south of the city of Breda) on local farms for eggs and meat. It was known to be a very hardy breed which survived well in the sandy soil of the Brabant province. An excellent layer, and the castrated cocks were famous for their tender, delicious meat.
